Looking to explore Oakland and get in some steps? There's an app for that: Let's Roam, which will take you on a self-guided three-mile walking tour of some of the best sights around Lake Merritt and Jack London Square. Search plaques, statues and art to solve riddles that can only be found on-location, as you learn a bit about the city's history. You can also try to beat the high scores of past solvers, with a reward system for completing the hunt which goes towards in-app points for future hunt tickets. Happy hunting!

Session Beer Fest at Jack London Square

Photo: Plank/Facebook

"Session" beers are beers that aren't too high-ABV or aggressively flavored, and which drinkers can enjoy several of in one session. They often get a bad rap compared to trendy high-alcohol IPAs, which is why Drake's Brewing Company is aiming to change the conversation by featuring a festival entirely comprised of easy-drinking beers.

This festival will feature sessionable brews from 30 local craft breweries, with proceeds benefiting Bike East Bay. Each ticket holder will get a glass and 10 tasting tickets, along with live music, games and prizes. You can also grab a bite from an on-site food truck, catch a homebrewing demo and get your bike valeted for free.

When: Saturday, May 25, 1 - 5 p.m.

Where: Jack London Square

Price: $40
