Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the best affordable Southeast Asian restaurants around Oklahoma City, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to fill the bill.
1. Four J's Diner
Topping the list is Four J's Diner. Located at 2920 S. Agnew Ave., the Laotian and Thai spot is the highest rated budget-friendly Southeast Asian restaurant in Oklahoma City, boasting five stars out of 160 reviews on Yelp.
Oklahoma Gazette described this spot as "chock-a-block full of fresh, spicy dishes for your newly educated tongue." Look for a wide selection of noodles, curry dishes, beef and seafood. Look for the Laotian sausage with boiled cabbage, green beans and broccoli in a hot chili sauce.
2. Bistro 38
Next up is Bistro 38, situated at 2903 N.W. 36th, Suite 113. With 4.5 stars out of 134 reviews on Yelp, the Thai spot has proven to be a local favorite for those looking for an inexpensive option.
Owner Tom Pakin aims to bring a healthy flair to Thai dishes by adding more vegetables, according to the Oklahoma Gazette. Expect a menu centered on noodles, fried rice, curry and more. Look for the fried tofu with bell peppers, yellow onions, sweet basil leaves drizzled with a Thai chili sauce.
3. Pho Lien Hoa
Pho Lien Hoa, a Vietnamese spot in Asia District, is another inexpensive go-to, with four stars out of 351 Yelp reviews. Head over to 901 N.W. 23rd St. to see for yourself.
In March, this spot was named by The Oklahoman as a local Asian dining choice worth a tour. On the menu, expect to find build-your-own rice soups, vermicelli noodle bowls and more. There's also specialty ice teas and fruit-infused smoothies.
4. GiaGia Vietnamese Restaurant
Over in Asia District, check out GiaGia Vietnamese Restaurant, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 68 reviews on Yelp. Dig in at the Vietnamese spot by heading over to 2624 N. Classen Blvd., Suite 3.
This spot ranked as one of the seven best Vietnamese restaurants in Oklahoma City. On the menu, expect vegetarian rice and noodle dishes, bánh mì sandwiches, and beef and pork noodle soups. Look for the sugarcane shrimp vermicelli bowl.
