A new Italian restaurant has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Via Sophia, it is located at 1001 14th St. NW in Downtown.

Via Sophia features classic Italian cuisine, with menu items ranging from Neapolitan pizzas made in a wood-burning oven to pappardelle with rabbit ragu, chicken with crispy artichokes, and charred spring onion with cherry tomato confit.

Via Sophia has made a good impression thus far, with a four-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.

Maddie B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 19, wrote, "The atmosphere is very modern, music choice was very lounge-like and the aesthetic was great. They served some fresh focaccia before our meal, and the salmon was excellent. Very fresh food and a great feel to this place."

And Mehdi B. wrote on June 24, "Service was great, and the staff was very attentive. The burrata salad and the steak I had were delicious. Last but not least, the prices were very reasonable and affordable. "

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Via Sophia is open from 7 a.m.–midnight on Monday-Saturday and 7 a.m.–11 p.m. on Sunday.
