A new bar and New American and French spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called ONE65 Bistro & Grill, the new arrival is located at 165 O'Farrell St., Floor 3, in Union Square.

Part of a new, multi-floor dining complex, ONE65 Bistro & Grill offers what its website describes as "California/French comfort food," including specialties from its charcoal-fired Josper oven like roasted chicken with duck fat potatoes, skate with sauce Grenobloise, beef cheek with nettle puree and pickled ramps and a ribeye steak for two with grilled peppers. Appetizers include classics like frog legs and escargot, and for a splurge, there's Osetra caviar. Desserts include a mango banana sorbet with caramelized bananas and cream puffs.

With a 4.5-star rating out of 24 reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Yelper Joey X. wrote, “For our main, we got the duck entree to share for two. It was really delicious and cooked just right. ... I thought the service was outstanding: all the servers were attentive and kind, and they even noticed that I had barely touched my wine cooler and offered to replace it."

And Marck N. wrote, "The beef cheek burger was delicious. I had mine medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. The fat in the beef cheek added the extra fatty goodness to the seasoning of the patty.  The fries that accompanied it were also good."
