Fans of Polk Street's venerable Bob’s Donuts have some happy news ahead: the beloved 24-hour purveyor of apple fritters and giant glazed doughnuts is planning an expansion to NoPa, in the former Chili Pies Baking Co. space at Baker and Fulton streets.

An anonymous Hoodline tipster alerted us to Bob's new location on Friday morning. An employee at the Polk Street location confirmed the expansion.

Eater SF reports that an official opening date for the new location has not been set. It also may not be open around-the-clock like the original — hours have yet to be decided.

We'll continue to update as we learn more about Bob's plans.

On Friday, Indian/Himalayan eatery Mission Curry House debuted in the former Lotus SF space at 2434 Mission St. (at 20th Street).

Owner Ajay Khadka is behind three other Indian restaurants in San Francisco: Om Indian Cuisine (1668 Haight St.), Tara Indian Cuisine (2217 Market St.) and Royal Indian Cuisine (1740 Fillmore St.)

For his newest spot, Khadka wants to experiment with a few new ideas, including serving some Himalayan dishes like momo (Nepalese-style steamed chicken or vegetable dumplings).

He also plans to serve organic chicken and vegetables, and to offer gluten-free curries and bread. (Check out the full menu here.)

Khadka told Hoodline he's long wanted to open a restaurant in the Mission. "I’ve been in San Francisco for a long time, so now I can finally serve good food in that neighborhood and do the fusion of Himalyan and Indian food that I’ve wanted to do for years,” he said.

Update

Russian Hill

Fiorella on Polk (2238 Polk St.)

The Polk Street outpost of popular Richmond District pizzeria Fiorella, which opened in March, is launching brunch service this Saturday, June 15.

Savory options will include polenta with pea tendrils, parmigiano, and a poached egg; pork tonnato toast; and a "carbonara" pizza with charred guanciale, pecorino, black pepper, peas, and a farm egg. Proceeds from each carbonara pizza sold will go to the arts program at nearby Sherman Elementary School.

On the sweet side of things, look for banana bread with whipped coconut cream. Drinks will include low-ABV cocktails and coffee from Ritual Roasters. Check out the full menu here

Brunch at Fiorella Polk will be served from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
