Hungry? A new neighborhood Caribbean spot has you covered. Located at 11 W. Illinois in the Near North, the new addition is called Flora Fauna.

Flora Fauna was created by husband and wife duo Liz Pearce and Jonathan Meyer. The food menu was inspired by their travels in Latin America, South America and Southeast Asia. On the menu, look for the seafood fritters with kerala curry and Chinese broccoli, the pork shank fried rice with mushrooms and radish or the lamb tartare.

Flora Fauna has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 24 reviews on Yelp.

Jessica M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 8, wrote, "Came here with a group of six for my birthday. They sat us at the chef's table, and it was an amazing experience! The chef and the general manager checked on us the whole night, and really made sure we were having the best time."

And Meredith K. wrote, "The cocktails are amazing. Top two have to be a pineapple old fashioned and a guava margarita. So well made! This place is like a little vacation. When you walk in you're transported away from Illinois to someplace warm, tropical and exotic."

Head on over to check it out: Flora Fauna is open from 4 p.m.–midnight on Monday-Thursday and 4 p.m.–1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
