A University District newcomer, Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea, is a coffee and tea spot, offering desserts and sandwiches. It's located at 15 E. 17th Ave.

Sudhindra Jadcherla, owner of the new location of the Michigan-based  chain, told Columbus Underground that Sweetwaters' Asian and global influences set it apart. “We have many offerings that aren’t found at your average coffee shop."

Among them are the Dragon Eye, a blend of coffee and sweetened condensed milk, and French Vietnamese au lait. A business specialty is frozen drinks like the Ice Dragons, blends of espresso, cream, whipped cream and various flavorings, such as caramel, strawberry, lemonade and chocolate. There are also the expected lattes, cappuccinos and chais, as well as pastries and other sweets.
