Hayes Valley
The Riddler (528 Laguna St.)
Popular champagne bar The Riddler will be closing in August for a seismic retrofit. The closure is mandated for earthquake safety by the city of San Francisco.
In an email, the owners told us they will use this time to refresh and touch up some of the interior space.
Its last day of service will be Sunday, July 28th, and the closure should last through the end of August. We will keep you posted on any updates.
Openings
Mission
Tselogs (518 S. Van Ness Ave.)
We reported last year that a Mission location for Tselogs was in the works (its other locations are in the Tenderloin and Daly City), and the Filipino restaurant is now open for business. Menu items such as tapsilog, sisiglog, arroz caldo pares, and daily chef specials are now offered, in addition to beer and wine.

Marina
Karaweik Burmese Cuisine (3317 Steiner St.)
Tablehopper reports that Karaweik Burmese Cuisine is now open. It’s the only restaurant serving Burmese fare in the Marina.
The eatery, housed in the old Chotto spot, is now serving items such as royal tea leaf salad, vegetarian samusa soup, green chile lemongrass fish, mango papaya salad, and more.
For more information about the new spot, see its Facebook page here.
