Navy Proof is a cocktail bar and New American spot.
This new business is located inside the Westin Hotel and offers seafood, chicken and beef entrees, with menu items ranging from pan-seared diver scallops (butternut squash barley, ginger beet puree, scallion) to pan-roasted Scottish salmon (quinoa, sweet potato, fennel, Brussels, watercress, lemon butter) to pomegranate Jindori chicken (wild rice, corn, acorn squash, beets, natural pan jus).

Navy Proof's current Yelp rating of four stars out of three reviews indicates the newcomer is off to a positive start with locals.
Yelper Liz H., who reviewed Navy Proof on August 17, wrote, "The breakfast was very good. The pork belly hash was delicious. There were leaves of crispy kale around this dish. This is a dish I would order again."

Elinor is a bar.
The bar provides "craft beer, wine, hard cider, hard kombucha and non-alcoholic beverages from either local, independent or woman-owned breweries and wineries," states Elinor's Yelp page. The bar also has free wi-fi, hosts live music and plans to projects classic movies and TV shows nightly.
Yelp users are excited about Elinor, which currently holds five stars out of seven reviews on the site.
Yelper Jenny T. noted, "This is the best new place in Long Beach. Michael, the bartender, is charming and charismatic. It also has good prices on wine."
Elinor is open from 4 p.m.–10 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday, 4 p.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
Portuguese Bend Distillery
300 The Promenade North, Long Beach
Portuguese Bend Distillery is a distillery, cocktail bar and New American spot.
This new business specializes in comfort foods like burgers, sandwiches and Southern fried chicken. On the menu, expect to see items like Dad's Burger (handmade burger patty, American cheese, Thousand Island, bacon, crisp lettuce, tomato and grilled onions, on a toasted white bun) and the Prohibition Italian beef sandwich (fresh baked Italian roll, thinly sliced prime rib, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, melted provolone cheese, sweet-spicy peppers and aus jus on the side).

With a 4.5-star Yelp rating out of 150 reviews on Yelp, Portuguese Bend Distillery has been getting positive attention.
Yelper Joy F. noted, "I really enjoyed having dinner here with my friends. It has good food and drinks. The design and layout of the restaurant is also great."
Portuguese Bend Distillery is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 11 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday.
