Here are some notable crime incidents in SFPD's Central District since our last biweekly recap. The district encompasses Chinatown; the Financial District; the Embarcadero; Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills; North Beach and Union Square.

Woman robbed after online app date goes bad

On Aug. 25 at 10:30 p.m., on the 1000 block of Sutter Street in Lower Nob Hill, a 32-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint by a man, 30, who she met on an online dating app. 

According to police, the pair had "consensual sex" before the suspect brandished a gun and took the victim's cash. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim reported pain in her hip, but refused medical treatment.  

2 suspects rob man at gunpoint 

On August 24 at 11:45 p.m., a 20-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint ear the corner of North Point and Stockton streets in North Beach.

Two male suspects, 20-30, brandished a gun at the victim and took his cellphone and wallet before fleeing the scene. The victim was not injured in the incident, and no arrests have been made. 

2 suspects attack 2 men; 1 loses consciousness 

Two men, 34 and 35, were assaulted by two unknown male suspects at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Vallejo Street in North Beach on Aug. 24 at 2:02 a.m. 

After two suspects "jumped the victims," one of them lost consciousness, according to police. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. 

Woman robs man at gunpoint 

Another robbery at gunpoint occurred on the 2100 block of the Embarcadero (at Market), on Aug. 23 at 9:24 p.m. 

A 30-year-old woman pointed a gun at a 49-year-old man, then stole his camera. No injuries or arrests were reported in connection to the incident. 

Man chases necklace thief, gets robbed at knifepoint

In Jackson Square, a 65-year-old man was robbed on the 600 block of Pacific Avenue (at Columbus) on Aug. 22 at 8:30 a.m.

A male suspect in his early- to mid-20s snatched the victim's necklace, then fled. The victim gave chase, but the suspect turned on him, brandishing a knife and demanding he hand over his wallet. The victim complied, and was uninjured. 

Unknown suspect assaults man with steel pipe 

At Myrtle and Larkin streets, on the border of the Tenderloin and Nob Hill, a 46-year-old man was assaulted on Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. 

A male suspect, 45-50, struck the victim over the head with a steel pipe before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported to a hospital for treatment. 

Man arrested for punching, robbing victim

A male suspect in his 30s was arrested for assaulting and robbing a 61-year-old man at Washington Street and The Embarcadero on Aug. 21 at 10:27 a.m.

The suspect punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. He then went through the victim's pockets, taking his cash and driver's license. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries, and officers in the area were able to find the suspect and take him into custody. 

Man attacked, robbed by 3 suspects

On Aug. 19 in North Beach, three male suspects robbed a 20-year-old man near the corner of Bay and Mason streets, around 11:40 p.m.

The three suspects approached the victim before punching and kicking him. They then took his cellphone and a wallet containing cash, and fled the scene in a sedan. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. 

Victim hospitalized after being stabbed 

On Aug. 16 at 10:35 p.m. on the 500 block of Geary Street near Union Square, a 34-year-old man was transported to a hospital in non-life-threatening condition after being stabbed by an unknown woman. The suspect fled the scene, and no arrests have been made.
