We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to discover which restaurants have been on the tips of diners' tongues this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at Atlanta businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Blackbird

Open since 2019, this New American and French spot is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "American (New)" on Yelp.

Citywide, New American spots saw a median 2.4% increase in new reviews over the past month, but Blackbird saw a 46.7% increase, maintaining a solid four-star rating throughout. Moreover, on a month-to-month basis, Blackbird's review count increased by more than 150%.

Located at 393 Marietta St. NW in Downtown, Blackbird offers fried green tomatoes, grits and more. 

The Brasserie

Whether or not you've been hearing buzz about Poncey-Highland's The Brasserie, the cocktail bar and French spot is a hot topic according to Yelp review data.

While businesses categorized as "Cocktail Bars" on Yelp saw a median 3% increase in new reviews over the past month, The Brasserie bagged a 23.5% increase in new reviews within that timeframe, with a slight upward trend from a three-star rating a month ago to its current 3.5 stars.

Open at 550 Somerset Terrace NE, Suite #102, The Brasserie offers beer, wine and cocktails including The Brasserie Margarita. 

Bareburger

Midtown's Bareburger is also making waves. Open since 2009, at 715 Peachtree St. NE, Suite #102, the traditional American spot, which offers burgers and salads, has seen a 7.2% bump in new reviews over the last month, compared to a median review increase of 2.4% for all businesses tagged "American (Traditional)" on Yelp.

Bareburger offers beef burgers, turkey burgers, onion rings, fries and more. Over the past month, it's maintained a mixed 3.5-star rating among Yelpers.
