New Latin American spot Amaru debuts in Wicker Park

If you've got Latin American on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. Called Amaru, the new arrival is located at 1904 W. N Ave. in Wicker Park.

Amaru provides pan-Latin cuisine and cocktails. The menu features charred octopus, ceviche, gnocchi with salsa verde and more.

With a five-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp so far, the new addition has already made a good impression.

Lauren D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 7, wrote, "I've only been here once and I will make sure to be back before I split town. .. The food was spectacular and I want more of it."

And Paul M. wrote, "One word: Wow! This is a long tenured Carnival crew who ventured off to open their own place. Simply put, they're crushing it! We loved the food, the decor and the super friendly staff."

Head on over to check it out: Amaru is open from 5 p.m.–midnight on Tuesday-Thursday, 5 p.m.–2 a.m. on Friday, 10 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.–2 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 5–10 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
