There's a brand-new gastropub in town. Located at 64 Tiemann Place in Morningside Heights, the new addition is called The Expat.

The Expat specializes in craft cocktails and Asian-inspired dishes. On the food menu, look for shrimp rolls, chicken curry and pork nachos. Cocktails include a cucumber and grapefruit gimlet and a dirty martini with pickle juice. Also on offer are beer, cider, wine and sake.

The fresh arrival has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 25 reviews on Yelp.

Emma B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 6, wrote, "As a vegetarian, I'm always nervous about what I can eat at a new place, and the bao bowl and salad were fantastic. Our server was delightful, and the decor is impeccably done."

And Riva L. wrote, "I can't say enough good things about The Expat! The food and drinks were great. We tried the Bangkok mule, the peach punch, the kumquat spritz and the gimlet, and everything was refreshing, delicious and pretty reasonably priced! My personal favorite was the peach punch, which had an awesome flavor and wasn't too sweet."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. The Expat is open from 4:30 p.m.–midnight daily.
