A new food truck and vendor spot, offering empanadas, tacos and more, has opened for business in the neighborhood. The new arrival to Pill Hill, called Kono Food Alley, is located at 3188 Telegraph Ave.

Kono Food Alley is an outdoor food-court hotspot for food trucks and food vendors, with menu items ranging from Argentine cuisine to tacos to coffee. According to the business' Facebook page, "We’re excited to announce the inaugural season of our Summer Food Truck Stop. It’s always been our dream to bring exciting new food vendors to Kono District in Oakland."

With a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh addition has been warmly received by patrons.

Annie L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 5, wrote, "This place has lots of potential. The owner is enthusiastic and you can tell food is his thing. He says he's in the process of bringing in more food trucks, so there should be more in store soon. What I really liked about this place is that it was really clean, new and upbeat."

And Shawn C. wrote, "Had a blast here and got to enjoy some great local food. Check 'em out, folks."

Head on over to check it out: Kono Food Alley is open from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. on weekdays. (It's closed on weekends.)
