A new wine bar, offering tapas and more, has made its debut in the neighborhood. Located at 1063 Bedford Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, the newcomer is called Speakvino.

The business offers red, white and sparkling wines from Europe and the Mediterranean region, including wines from Albania, Lebanon and Morocco. The menu features snacks and appetizers served in jars, such as anchovies, marinated olives, and charred artichokes preserved in olive oil. There are big plates, too, like gnocchi and pan-roasted strip loin.

With a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the new wine bar is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Ryan S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 15, wrote, "Really interesting wine list. Perfect menu to accompany it."

Yelper David S. added, “The service was excellent. The waitress was friendly, attentive and helpful, without hovering or smothering. The food, served tapas style, was delicious and diverse."
