Pizza and more: What's trending on Las Vegas's food scene?Amano | Photo: Jean C./Yelp

Unsure where Las Vegas's in-the-know crowd is eating and drinking? It's easy to spot lines out the door, but some underlying trends are harder to see.

We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to uncover which local businesses have been in the spotlight this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at Las Vegas businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Read on to see which spots are on a hot streak, right now.

Open since June, this breakfast, brunch and fast food spot, which offers burgers and more, is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "Breakfast & Brunch" on Yelp.

Citywide, breakfast and brunch spots saw a median 2.1% increase in new reviews over the past month, but Vegan Bliss saw a 42.9% increase, with a slight downward trend from a five-star rating a month ago to 4.5 stars today.

It's not the only trending outlier in the breakfast and brunch category: Vesta Coffee Roasters has seen a 5.5% increase in reviews.

Located at 6410 N. Durango Drive in Centennial Hills, Vegan Bliss offers a 100% plant-based menu, which includes burgers, breakfast dishes and sweet treats. Check out the business's website here for a full line of offerings.

Vegan Bliss is open from 10 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.

Centennial Hills's Ben'Zaa Cantina de Oaxaca is also making waves. Open since April at 7585 Norman Rockwell Lane, the well-established Mexican spot has seen a 17.3% bump in new reviews over the last month, compared to a median review increase of 2.8% for all businesses tagged "Mexican" on Yelp.

There's more than one hot spot trending in Las Vegas's Mexican category: Leticia's Cocina & Cantina has seen a 13.3% increase in reviews.

Ben'Zaa Cantina de Oaxaca offers quesadilla, burritos, street tacos, combination platters and dinner entrees. (Here's the menu.) Over the past month, it's maintained a sound four-star rating among Yelpers.

Ben'Zaa Cantina de Oaxaca is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The popular Italian spot, which offers pizza and more and opened at 5601 N. Tenaya Way in November 2017, increased its new review count by 8.1% over the past month, an outlier when compared to the median new review count of 1.8% for the Yelp category "Pizza."

It's not the only trending outlier in the pizza category: Round Table Pizza has seen a 1.7% increase in reviews.

Amano offers a variety of classic and signature pizzas, hot and cold sandwiches, soups, salads, stromboli, dinner specialties and pasta entrees. Its specialty dish is the Fat Baby — a bread loaf stuffed with pasta or parmigiana. Check out the website here for a full line of offerings and for more information.

Amano is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Tuesday-Saturday and noon–9 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
