Papi's, an eatery specializing in organic Mexican food, has closed its doors after 18 months in the Tenderloin. has lost an eatery serving organic Mexican food.

A Hoodline reporter spotted a sign bidding farewell to its customers. "Thank you to all that have supported us in this year and a half," the note reads. "Stay tuned for what comes up next."

As we reported last year, Papi's was the fourth restaurant from the team behind Papito Hayes in Hayes Valley, Matador in Lower Nob Hill, and Tender Wine Bar, located right next door to the now-closed restaurant. The restaurant specialized in tacos, burritos and drinks like micheladas and margaritas.

Hoodline's veteran tipster Al M. alerted us that Flybird, a restaurant specializing in fried chicken sandwiches and salads, is coming to the Financial District's former Discount Camera space. The company's website states that it plans to open early next month; a permit has already been approved by the city.

Flybird will specialize in Mary's fried chicken cutlets, served on a classic sandwich (cabbage slaw, bread & butter pickles, and remoulade on an Acme torpedo roll) or in a Caesar salad (with little gem lettuce, shaved parmesan, garlic croutons, avocado and Caesar dressing).

Al M. also noted that downtown SF is about to get yet another location of Blue Bottle Coffee, in a space previously occupied by an AT&T store.

Signs on the ground floor space of the Central Tower building announce that the coffee shop is "coming soon." A permit for $171,180 in construction work, including electrical and plumbing, was issued by the Planning Department in May.

Blue Bottle has been on an expansion tear since being acquired by Nestle two years ago, and the new location follows the opening of another Blue Bottle location at 168 2nd St. last fall. Blue Bottle's other downtown locations are at 1355 Market St., 66 Mint Plz., 115 Sansome St., 628 California St. and the Ferry Building.
