Hungry for vegan fare? A new neighborhood breakfast and brunch spot has you covered. The East Village arrival, called Spoiled Vegans Cafe, is at 440 16th St. (between Island Avenue and J Street).

Located within Red Hat Coffee, this new weekend pop-up cafe specializes in plant-based waffles paired with items fresh from local farmers markets, as well as vegan waffle dogs and sandwiches.

With a five-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival has already made a good impression.

Juan C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the spot on Aug. 12, wrote, "I'm not a vegan. I'm not a vegetarian — just a regular guy who likes good food. I was so happy I tried the waffle dog. I had the chipotle and the apple sage. Each comes with two sauces to dip your dog in. The butterscotch was the bomb!"

Yelper Denise L. added, “This place has awesome customer service, which in my opinion is just as important as the food, which is also fire! They are new and their menu is always changing but the Born in the 60s is a fave. It's sweet, gluten free and covered in hemp seeds.”

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Spoiled Vegans Cafe will soon disclose its weekday hours, and is open from 8 a.m.–2 p.m. on weekends.
