San Francisco-based shopping company thredUP has secured $100 million in Series F funding, according to company database Crunchbase, topping the city’s recent funding headlines. The cash infusion was announced oAug. 21.

According to its Crunchbase profile, "thredUP is the nation's most trusted online marketplace for buying and selling like-new clothing. Fusing fashion resale and e-commerce, customers send consignment-quality clothing in a pre-paid Closet Cleanout Bag, earn cash upfront for their clothing, and can shop favorite styles and brands at thredUP.com for up to 90% off retail."

The 10-year-old company has raised seven previous funding rounds, including a $75 million round in 2018.

Over the past year, 29 San Francisco-based clothing and apparel companies have secured venture funding, totaling $737 million in new investment to the local industry.

In other local funding news, delivery service company Starship Technologies announced a $40 million Series A funding round on Aug. 20, led by Morpheus Ventures.

Rounding out the city's recent top local funding events, social network company MyHealthTeams raised $9.4 million in Series B funding, announced on Aug. 15 and led by UCB Ventures.
