After 14 years in the Castro, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has closed its offices at 2355 Market St. (at Castro St.)
Hoodline reached out to Coldwell Banker's office manager, Doug Devine, for comment, but did not receive a response.
However, according to the Bay Area Reporter, Devine said Coldwell Banker will be consolidating its Castro office with its Nob Hill office, at Van Ness Avenue and California Street.
On Monday, Hoodline observed movers taking office furniture out of the store, loading it up on to two large moving trucks.
The closure of Coldwell Banker's real estate offices adds yet another vacant storefront to the long list of Castro businesses that have closed this year, including Cook Shoppe, Finn Town Tavern, Izakaya Sushi Ran, Firewood Cafe, Ixia and Eureka Restaurant and Lounge.
By Hoodline's count, the 2300 block of Market Street alone has seven vacant retail storefronts: 2301 (GreenSurge), 2331 (Ixia), 2349 (Illy), 2350 (Streetlight Records), 2352 (Worn Out West), 2367 (Bisou) and 2390 (Pottery Barn). Coldwell Banker is now the eighth.
At this time it's unclear what, if any, new business will be moving into the vacant space, which longtime Castro residents will recall was the former home of Eber Electronics.
Finding the right tenant for the address could prove difficult, due to its large size: 11,000 square feet. We'll keep you posted on who might move in.
