Get noodles and more at SBIC's new The Hot DryPhoto: Vicky D./Yelp

A new spot to score noodles, ice cream and frozen yogurt has made its debut in the neighborhood. The new addition to SBIC, called The Hot Dry, is located at 2 E. Wells St.

Handmade noodles, dumplings and buns are the signature menu items at The Hot Dry. Pork soup dumplings, baked barbecue beef buns, tea-smoked chicken with knife-cut noodles and matsutake mushrooms with alkaline noodles in fish broth are among the many options.

The Hot Dry has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp.

D S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Aug. 31, wrote, "We tried the shredded potatoes, green beans, hot noodles, mala chicken and cream buns for dessert. Everything tasted wholesome and was well seasoned."

Yelper Emma B. added, “The soup dumplings were super tasty and homemade. The dry pot chicken is absolutely fantastic. All of the drinks were good. And the cream buns were an enjoyable little dessert."

The Hot Dry is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday-Friday and Sunday. (It is closed for lunch on Monday and Saturday). Dinner hours are from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday and Sunday, and from 5-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It is closed for dinner on Monday).
