Unsure where San Diego's in-the-know crowd is eating and drinking? It's easy to spot lines out the door, but some underlying trends are harder to see.

We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to deduce which restaurants have been getting a significant uptick in attention this month.

To find out who made the list, we looked at San Diego businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increased their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Read on to see which spots are getting plenty of attention this autumn.

Harland Brewing

Open since July, this brewery and beer bar is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "Beer Bar" on Yelp.

Citywide, beer bars saw a median 1.7% increase in new reviews over the past month, but Harland Brewing saw a formidable 250% increase, maintaining a healthy 4.5-star rating throughout.

Located at 3718 Paseo Place, Suite 1300 in Carmel Valley, Harland Brewing is the latest endeavor by Josh Landen, who sold locally based St. Archer Brewing to MillerCoors in 2015, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Harland Brewing's centerpiece brews, available on tap at the new tasting room, are a blonde ale, a Mexican lager and an IPA. It also offers a variety of seasonal IPAs, including the New Zealand Hazy, a citrusy, tropical hop with fruity esters.

Harland Brewing is open from noon–9 p.m. on Sunday-Thursday and noon–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
