Italian Village gets a new restaurant and bar: SeeSawPhoto: Melissa M./Yelp

A new bar, New American spot and dance club has made its debut in the neighborhood. The recent arrival to Italian Village, called SeeSaw, is at 906 N. High St.

Though it's in Columbus, this newcomer has some strong Cleveland roots. According to Columbus Monthly magazine, SeeSaw is the latest effort by Cleveland-based chef Jonathon Sawyer, Forward Hospitality Group and Cleveland Indians’ second baseman Jason Kipnis. Sawyer is a James Beard Award winner, and his SeeSaw menu includes several wood-fired entrees, including the Ohio grass-fed burger and Korean barbecue salmon, along with a wide selection of shareable plates.

With a 3.5 star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival has made a promising start.

Nina M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the spot on August 29, wrote, "We ordered some drinks and a variety of food bites, of which the charred broccoli served over aioli as well as the hummus (with pita that is almost like a pancake) were favorites."

And Bryan R. wrote, "We were able to try the place out on soft open for family and friends. Everything we ate was on point. The scallops crudo were a home run for me, and the fried chicken was cooked perfectly."
