Koreatown gets a new gastropub: TipsiPhoto: Tipsi/Yelp

There's a brand-new gastropub in town. Called Tipsi, the newcomer is located at 528 S. Western Ave. in Koreatown.

Tipsi provides New American and Asian fusion gastropub fare. On the menu, look for Korean-style beef back ribs, kimchi pork belly pizza or Korean caviar pasta.

With a 4.5-star rating out of 54 reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer has been warmly received by patrons.

Audris L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Aug. 9, wrote, "[The] food was amazing... The ribs were delicious. The meat just fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. The sauce/broth was perfection. "

And Christine L. added, "New gastropub in town, almost the same food options as Chef Kang Food Rehab on Vermont as it's by the Same chef, just with better drink options... The fried chicken is yummy, the ceviche was pretty good... One thing [though] — service can be a bit slow."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Tipsi is open from 5 p.m.–midnight on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 5 p.m.–2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
