West Seattle gets a new cocktail bar: HaymakerPhoto: Frank E./Yelp

A new cocktail bar has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Haymaker, the new addition is located at 4706 California Ave. SW in West Seattle.

Haymaker serves up American bistro fare with French influences, according to Eater Seattle. On the menu, you'll find items like homemade rigatoni pasta, dry-aged New York steak, roasted duck confit with peaches and roasted corn on the cob with aioli and parmesan cheese.

While the cocktail menu changes seasonally, you can expect to find Manhattan cocktails, wine, whiskey, beer, hard cider and more.

With a four-star rating out of 25 reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer has made a promising start.

Ashley D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 23, wrote, "The proteins are definitely the stars of the show, and I will have a hard time not ordering the pork collar and the NY steak on future visits. Both dishes have so much flavor, and the meat is cooked absolutely perfectly."

And Andrew M. wrote, "Decent addition to the West Seattle restaurant scene. The vibe is good and the pasta is (unsurprisingly) delicious."

Haymaker is now open at 4706 California Ave. SW., so stop in to try it for yourself.
