A 23-year-old man was killed on Monday night near Larkin Street and Golden Gate Avenue, in an incident police are investigating as a homicide.

The killing occurred just after 11 p.m., near the Phillip Burton Federal Building. Citing an ongoing investigation, police offered few details on the suspect in the case, other than that he was armed with a gun and driving an SUV. Officers did not specify if the victim was shot with the gun.

According to a police report, the victim was transported to a hospital from the site of the incident, where he was declared dead.
