A 27-year-old man was killed on Monday afternoon in a shooting on Jones Street, between Market and McAllister streets. The Examiner reports that the shooting occurred outside of the Boyd Hotel, an SRO with 79 units.
Police arrived on the scene just before 3 p.m. to find the victim on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and later died of his wounds.
The case is being investigated as a homicide, with the suspect described as a 20-year-old man. Police have declined to provide further information on the suspect's or victim's identities at this time, as the case remains under investigation.
