San Jose-based cloud computing company Pensando has secured $145 million in Series C funding, according to company database Crunchbase, topping the city’s recent funding headlines. The cash infusion was announced on Oct. 16.

"Founded in 2017, Pensando Systems is advancing distributed computing designed for the New Edge, powering software-defined cloud, compute, networking, storage and security services to transform existing architectures into secure, ultra-fast environments demanded by next-generation applications," states the business's Crunchbase profile. The three-year-old startup has raised two previous funding rounds, including a $62 million Series B round in 2018.

The round brings total funding raised by San Jose companies in information technology over the past month to $176 million. The local information technology industry has produced 46 funding rounds over the past year, raking in a total of $919 million in venture funding.

In other local funding news, blockchain company PeerNova announced a $31 million Series C funding round on Oct. 22, led by Mosaik Partners.

Meanwhile, retail and commercial company X3 Builders raised funding that was announced on Oct. 23. The round was financed by Cemex Ventures.
