Losanti restaurant debuts in Over-the-RhinePhoto: Paul S./Yelp

A new restaurant that describes itself as a "boutique steakhouse" has opened in Over-the-Rhine. Called Losanti —a reference to the original name of the 18th-century settlement that became Cincinnati — it's at 1401 Race St.

Featuring a kitchen helmed by chef and co-owner Anthony Sitek, the new eatery's menu specializes in prime steak by the ounce, along with a house burger and chicken, salmon and pork chop entrees. Also on offer is an extensive choice of pasta dishes.

With a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh addition is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Nick P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Oct. 22, wrote, "One of the best new restaurants in the city. I came here with some friends on a Friday night, and we had a very memorable/enjoyable experience."

Yelper Andy M. added, “Losanti is a great steakhouse option In Cincinnati — especially if you don't want to leave OTR. Several aspects [of it] just aren't available anywhere else in Cincinnati.”

Interested? Stop by to give it a try. Losanti is open from 4 p.m.–10 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday and 4 p.m.–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday and Monday.)
