Tipster Praveen S. wrote in to let us know that a new eatery is in store for 900 Stanyan Street, the longtime home of Thai eatery Bangkok 900, which closed its doors permanently last fall.
According to public records, CreoLa, a San Carlos-based bistro that's been serving up Cajun and Creole fare since 1996, is set to expand to San Francisco, opening a second location in the space at Frederick and Stanyan.
CreoLa's owner, Edwin Caba, didn't respond to a request for comment. But if the Cole Valley location is like the San Carlos original, it should be open for brunch, lunch, and dinner service.
The San Carlos CreoLa's menu is built off a backbone of New Orleans classics: fried okra, seafood gumbo, shrimp and crawfish etouffee, jambalaya and fried chicken, with dinner items ranging from $7 to $23.
According to permits with the California Alcoholic Beverage Control filed last week, CreoLa will also be able to serve beer and wine.
