Here are some notable crime reports from SFPD's Central District since our last biweekly recap. The district encompasses Chinatown; the Financial District; the Embarcadero; Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills; North Beach and Union Square.

Camera robbery at gunpoint

On November 13, a man in his twenties pointed a gun at a 41-year-old man and demanded his camera at Taylor and Vallejo streets. The victim complied and the suspect was able to flee northbound on Taylor Street in a car just a few minutes before 4 p.m. No arrest has been made.

Silverware and shoes stolen from garage

On November 11, a 71-year-old man heard noise on the roof before going to sleep at North Point and Leavenworth streets at 10:30 p.m. When the victim woke up later, he discovered that silverware and shoes were stolen from his garage. The suspects were described as a man aged between 25 and 30 years and a woman of unknown age. No arrest has been made.

Assault victim gets pepper-sprayed

On November 7, a 57-year-old man was walking on Jackson Street and Grant Avenue at 9:15 p.m. when unknown suspects attacked and then pepper-sprayed him. The man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. No arrest has been made.

Man bumped on street, phone taken

On November 7 at 6:11 p.m., a 57-year-old man was holding his phone at Sansome and California streets when a man aged between 18 and 20 bumped him. The suspect then grabbed his phone and fled. No arrest has been made.

Suspect swings machete, injures victim

On November 5, a 40-year-old man hit the windshield of a 25-year-old man's car with a metal rod at The Embarcadero and Don Chee Way. Then, as the younger man got out of his car, the same suspect swung a machete towards the man, injuring him. The victim suffered non life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. The incident occurred a few minutes prior to 8:30 a.m., no arrest has been made.
