New Ballard Italian spot Valentinetti's opens its doorsPhoto: Valentinetti's/Yelp

If you've got Italian on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The fresh addition to Ballard, called Valentinetti's, is located at 5425 Russell Ave. NW.

Valentinetti's offers Italian dishes like ricotta gnocchi, brick oven meatballs, calamari, spaghetti, seafood linguine and more. Valentinetti's also offers plenty of gluten-free options—including gluten-free pasta.

There's also traditional Italian pinsa, which is similar to pizza, but is instead made with "non-GMO flour of wheat, soy and rice and cold fermentation process, which provides a pleasingly crispy-soft textured pinsa crust," according to the restaurant's website.

With a four-star rating out of 13 reviews on Yelp so far, Valentinetti's has gotten a good response.

Alexandra L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Nov. 17, wrote, "My husband and I just had the calamari appetizer, hands-down it is the best calamari we have had outside of Spain in years. The atmosphere is nice and warm and is not loud, so you can actually talk to the person across the table from you."

Yelper Athena S. added, “We very much enjoyed our dinner. I got the spaghetti with meatballs and my partner got the spicy seafood pasta. Both very flavorful. The staff was awesome and the building is very cool and historic."

Valentinetti's is now open at 5425 Russell Ave. NW., so swing on by to take a peek.
