A new Lebanese spot has opened for business in the neighborhood. Located at 1245 Griswold St. in Downtown, the new arrival is called Leila.

Leila specializes in Lebanese fare. On the menu, expect to see items like spicy lamb sausage with pine nuts, lamb confit, yogurt sauce and served with a pita; lentil soup and fattoush made with cucumber, tomato, pita and za'atar.

Leila has received mixed attention this far, with a 3.5-star rating from five Yelp reviews.

Shantel T., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Nov. 11, wrote, "[It had] great ambiance, service and food. I came with a friend who grew up with this food and who frequents Phoenicia--we both loved Leila. We ordered the lentil soup, falafel, hummus, tabouli, and branzino (cooked well done with crispy skin). Everything was really good! "

And Mary D. wrote, "Fresh ingredients, a beautiful, comfortable, and inviting environment...A few favorites from the menu so far were the fattoush salad, baba ghanouj, tomato kibbeh, falafel, samak harra (sea bass), the lamb shoulder and Anne Hathaway and Lebanita from their signature cocktails’ menu."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Leila is open from 5 –10 p.m. on Sunday through Wednesday and 5 p.m.–midnight on Thursday through Saturday.
