A new Italian, vegetarian and vegan spot has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Ground Foods Cafe, the new arrival is located at 6428 N. Florida Ave. in Seminole Heights.

Ground Foods Cafe specializes in small plates and pasta dishes made with organic ingredients and old world Italian beer and wines, notes the business's website. It offers a vegan and plant-based menu with items ranging from gluten-free truffle potato wedges to a gluten-free pumpkin pie. Also, expect to find a variety of pasta dishes—including butternut squash with roasted garlic, spiced squash sauce and cashew Parmesan)—that can made with gluten-free pasta.

Ground Foods Cafe has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Isabella C., who reviewed the new spot on Nov. 15, wrote, “This place was so amazing! The pesto was a little nutty, which I loved! The vodka pasta was incredible and the vegan cheese was the perfect topping."

Head on over to check it out: Ground Foods Cafe is open from 4 p.m.–10 p.m. on Tuesday-Saturday and 11 a.m.–3 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
