Shake Shack, Amazon Go confirmed for long-vacant Westfield Mall spacePhoto: Alisa Scerrato/Hoodline

Changes are afoot on the Westfield San Francisco Centre’s lower level.

As we’ve recently reported, Shack Shack will open in the mall in 2020. (Its first San Francisco location in Cow Hollow at 3060 Fillmore St. will be opening this month.)

Veteran tipster Al M. noticed some signage today for the highly anticipated Shack Shack, and a few more businesses that will move into some vacated spots on the lower level (by the underground Muni stop).

In the former Bristol Farms space, which closed a little over two years ago, is a sign for Amazon Go, a grab-and-go service with ready-to-eat breakfast, lunch and snack options. Right next to it is the Shake Shack sign.

Amazon Go and Shake Shack will split the 30,000 feet formerly occupied by Bristol Farms. A representative for the Westfield confirmed the new locations for both Amazon Go and Shake Shack, but could not disclose any opening dates.

Further down in the food court, Al also noticed that Umai Hot Dogs, a chain started as a hot dog cart in 1992 in San Jose, will be opening next to Pasta Moto. The eatery is known for its hot dogs, sausages, sliders and more.

While the lower level is seeing some signs of new life, Walgreens, which closed last month, is still vacant.

We will post updates when work begins at Amazon Go, Shack Shack and Umai Hot Dogs.

Update, 12/4, 1:43 p.m.: A representative for Shake Shack says that the company's first SF location, in Cow Hollow, is no longer set to open this month. She declined to provide information on when the location does plan to open.
