Dupont Circle gets a new bar: The AdmiralPhoto: Jennifer J./Yelp

A new bar and traditional American spot has debuted in the neighborhood. The fresh addition, called The Admiral, is located at 1 Dupont Circle NW.

The Admiral offers a variety of beers, wines and specialty cocktails. A Sierra Nevada IPA, a Sam Adams seasonal and Pacifico are all on draft. And in terms of specialty cocktails, try the skinny margarita with agave syrup, the Royale with prosecco and elderflower or the Paloma with vodka, grapefruit and lime juice. In terms of food, the spot offers crab cakes, steak frites and brisket sliders, as well as a raw bar.

With a four-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp so far, The Admiral has been warmly received by patrons.

Kati K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 7, wrote, "If you love bourbon and oysters, you should go to The Admiral. The oysters and crab cakes were delicious."

Head on over to check it out: The Admiral is open from 4 p.m.–1 a.m. on Monday-Thursday, 4 p.m.–3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m.–midnight on Sunday.
