A new chicken shop and Chinese spot, offering noodles and more, has opened for business in the neighborhood. The fresh addition to Lower Garden District, called Blue Giant, is located at 1300 Magazine St.

According to the business's Facebook page, Blue Giant serves up "the Chinese food of your dreams." The menu is full of Chinese-American fusion comfort foods, like salt and pepper catfish, pan fried shrimp & pork dumplings and scallop egg foo yung. (Check out the full menu here.)

With a four-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp so far, Blue Giant is getting solid feedback from clientele.

Blane M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 17, wrote, "...Best hot and sour soup I've had in my life. The chow fun noodles blew me away. Egg roll was rocking. Absolutely can't go wrong here. Eat Blue Giant"

Yelper Smiling J. added, "Only been open for a short while but the staff seems to work together really well which resulted in a fantastic food experience during our lunch visit... Will be back, just like the fortune cookie foretells."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Blue Giant is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (It's closed on Tuesday.)
