A new cocktail bar and vegan spot, offering comfort food and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The newcomer to East Carollton, called Kindred, is located at 7537 Maple St.

Kindred serves up American vegan and plant-based food. On the menu, expect to see items like fried chicken tenders, burgers, chickpea salads and some dessert.

With a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the new cocktail bar is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Judy S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 4, wrote, "Delicious plant-based comfort food on Maple Street!! I've been so excited for this place to open and it didn't disappoint."

Yelper Sarah W. added, “What a wonderful comfort food vegan place! I got the spicy chicken sandwich, and as I'm not a vegan, it was surprising how much it truly tasted like chicken."

Head on over to check it out: Kindred is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Tuesday.)
