Pizza fans, take heed: There's a new spot in town to get your fix. The newcomer to Shaw, called Emmy Squared Pizza, is located at 1924 Eighth St. NW.

Try the spot's signature square red or white pizzas with a variety of toppings. Not in the mood for a pie? The restaurant also serves burgers, chicken parmesan sandwiches, salads, waffle fries, chicken wings, roasted cauliflower and cheesy garlic sticks.

Emmy Squared Pizza has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.

Mike S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 16, wrote, "It's pretty damn good. The only annoying part is that the cheese sinks through the wire rack that it's served on, so that if you don't eat it fast, you'll lose out on some of the cheesy goodness."

Rebecca S. added, “We ordered the waffle fries to start, and they were very good. Then we ordered the margarita pizza to share. ... The pizza is baked in a cast-iron pan, so the edges are crispy and the inside is soft. The ingredients on top — the sauce, the burrata and basil — were all delicious.”

Head on over to check it out: Emmy Squared Pizza is open from 4–11 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 4 p.m. –1 a.m. on Friday, 11 a.m.–1 a.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday and Tuesday.)
