This weekend, get ready to sample Southeast Asian fare at a food festival, give to a local canine rescue, dress up for some Academy Awards watch parties or head over to Chinatown for this year's Community Street Fair.

Here's where to go for some weekend fun in SF.

Island Vibes Food Festival

In honor of SF Beer Week, the Dogpatch's Harmonic Brewing is hosting a festival celebrating Southeast Asian and Polynesian food vendors, including Tum Lum Tum La, (Vietnamese/Chinese), Ox & Tiger (Filipino), El Chino Grande (Hawaiian) and Prubechu (Chamorro food from Guam).

Not Too Sweet, from Liholiho Yacht Club pastry chef Penelope Lau, will offer Southeast Asian-inspired desserts, while Harmonic will debut its Invisible Haze IPA, a collaboration with nearby Bare Bottle Brewing. 

When: Saturday, February 8, 2 – 8 p.m.

Chinese Community Street Fair

Now in its 29th year, the Chinese Community Street Fair will bring over 120 booths to Chinatown for the weekend of the Chinese New Year Parade. In addition to shopping, attendees can enjoy Chinese folk dancing, opera, drumming and much more at the entertainment stage on Washington Street (below Grant Avenue).

And before the parade takes place on Saturday (5:15-8 p.m.), photos with the parade's giant puppets and dragon will also be part of the fun.

When: Saturday, February 8, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; Sunday, February 9, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Where: Grant Avenue (from California to Broadway); Sacramento, Washington, Jackson streets and Pacific Avenue (between Stockton and Kearny)

Seven Stills "Adopt-A-Can" Party

Beer Week continues as Seven Stills launches its new Adopt-A-Can, an Extra Special Bitter benefiting Muttville Senior Dog Rescue. During Saturday's event, visitors can take photos in the photo booth, enjoy food specials and treat their own furry friends to a meal from a special dog-friendly menu.

Attendees will also get the chance to meet some adoptable Muttville dogs — all February adoptions at Muttville are free, to honor a donor's beloved dog who passed on.

2020 Oscars Watch Party at Manny's

Bring your best gown or tux to walk down the blue carpet at Manny's, which will be hosting an Oscars viewing party with gold tinsel, a specialty Oscars cocktail and Oscars-themed games. Predict the winners, and you could get a prize of your own.

Oscars Viewing Party at Novela

Come dressed as your favorite film character — or in your finest eveningwear — to watch the Academy Awards at this SoMa bar. With two large projection screens and five HD flat-panels, you won't miss any of the ceremony. There will also be a red carpet happy hour, special food and drink menus, Oscar ballots and movie-style popcorn with fun flavors.
