A new tea room, offering bubble tea and more, has opened in the neighborhood. Called The Alley, the recent arrival is in the Irvine Health and Science Complex at 507 Spectrum Center Drive.

The spot offers a variety of milk tea, boba tea (featuring hand-rolled tapioca balls) and tea lattes. This is the chain's second location in Orange County after the one in Fountain Valley.

The newest Alley has gotten off to a solid start, with a four-star rating out of 23 reviews on Yelp.

Marcy S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Feb. 17, wrote, "I was pleasantly surprised with my drinks. I expected it to be super sweet, but the sweetness was not overpowering. The boba was the right amount of chewiness, and the creme brûlée was a nice add-on. If i'm craving brown sugar milk tea, i'll be going here."

Mitch L. added, "Pretty stylish place to get a fancy milk tea the Spectrum. It's in a nice spot near the theater and wasn't too crazy at 12:30 p.m. and having just opened. I got sort of a risky first drink, the brown sugar matcha milk tea. I appreciate that they don't mix it for you so it looks nice, and in a departure from familiar milk tea places there's a, dare I say, elegant approach to the cup and cover."

Head on over to check it out: The Alley is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
