New Mexican spot Orale Mexican Eats debuts in WindomPhoto: Sammy S./Yelp

A new Mexican spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Orale Mexican Eats, the fresh addition is located at 5447 Nicollet Ave. in Windom.

Juvelyn and husband Saul Mellado, who formerly owned and operated Mi Casa Su Casa, are back in business with this new eatery. According to the business's Facebook page, Orale Mexican Eats offers "a new and fresh take on authentic, contemporary Mexican food. Fresh ingredients and freshly cooked street cuisine."

The menu features starters like chips and salsa, elote and carne asada fries as well as specialties including enchiladas, quesadillas and sopes. Look for fan favorites like the Filipino bistek, soy and lime marinated steak served with Mexican rice, beans, tortillas, lettuce and guacamole.

Orale Mexican Eats has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.

Sammy S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 10, wrote, "I love the California burrito! Not that many places in Minnesota make the California burrito (with french fries inside), but Orale has it—and it is so yummy! All its meats, sauces, etc. are homemade. I love the sauces too."

Yelper Jeff L. added, “Ordered carnitas and al pastor tacos and agua de jamaica to go. Great tacos prepared the way they should be—like street food or home cooked. Great flavor, seasonings and ingredients!”

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Orale Mexican Eats is open from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
