The Bay Area's shelter-in-place order has brought countless events usually held as in-person gatherings online. We're aiming to support local businesses in San Francisco and Oakland by highlighting five of these events each day.

Here's your SF events calendar for Tuesday, April 7. Take an urban biking lesson, join a beginners' flamenco class or settle in for a morning meditation — all from the comfort of your couch.

Daily Online Morning Meditation

While the physical SF Dharma Collective in the Mission remains closed, the group's morning sit will still take place every day. Led by lay instructors, this meditation session is open to all.

Tuesday Lunch Music Club

Got antsy kids at home? Bring them to this music-themed digital lunch break, where they can sing and perform for other kids and watch others while enjoying a snack. 100% of the proceeds go to local charity Season of Sharing, which is helping pay rent and buy food for those affected by the pandemic.

Mindful Family Caregiving

The COVID-19 crisis has put a lot of strain on those who regularly care for children, elders parents or the disabled. Get support through a four-part Mindful Family Caregiving series, which will allow you to cope with discomfort and suffering, create healthy boundaries and establish a plan for maintaining self-care during these challenging times.

Intro to Urban Biking

With unusually low car traffic and Muni shutting down most of its lines, now is a great time to get confident with urban cycling. In this online edition of the SF Bicycle Coalition's regular bike class, you can learn the basics of bicycle and helmet fit, route planning, rules of the road, protecting your bicycle and crash prevention.

Online Flamenco: Beginner Class

Spice up your quarantine routine by learning the basics of flamenco dancing. Targeted at beginners, this intro to flamenco techniques from Mission-based Theatre Flamenco will be led by its artistic director, Carola Zertuche.
