The Bay Area's shelter-in-place order has brought countless events usually held as in-person gatherings online. We're aiming to support local businesses in San Francisco and Oakland by highlighting five of these events each day.

Here's your SF and Oakland event calendar for Monday, May 4. Show off your knowledge at a trivia night, join fellow "Star Wars" fans for May the Fourth or get fit in a vinyasa yoga class — all from the comfort of your couch.

Tiny Dorm Concert

In this riff on NPR's "Tiny Desk Concerts," undergraduates and graduates in the guitar program at the SF Conservatory of Music will perform pieces from many eras and genres, from Johann Sebastian Bach to Antônio Carlos Jobim. The conservatory's dean, Jonas Wright, and guitar department chair, David Tanenbaum, will emcee and offer context on the music.

All-Levels Vinyasa Yoga

With studios closed, yoga instructor Barry Au-Yeung has shifted to hosting an online yoga class every Monday. The vinyasa practice aims to promote endurance, balance and flexibility, while breathing through each pose. Students are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes early to meditate, and Au-Yeung will also be available after class for a Q&A session.

When: Monday, May 4, 5:30 p.m.

Price: Free, with $5+ donations accepted via Venmo and PayPal. Sign up via Patreon if you want to receive verbal adjustments during class.

May the Fourth: Virtual Star Wars Party

May the Fourth be with you! The Chabot Space & Science Center is honoring the big day with a virtual Star Wars party on Facebook Live. The family-friendly event will include a DIY bottle light saber activity, virtual fashion show and a special appearance from R2-D2. Submit your look in the "Star Wars" fashion show by using the hashtag #chabotmay4th on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

May the Fourth Be with You Trivia/Games

This "Star Wars"-themed trivia night will allow patrons to flex their knowledge about the galaxy far, far away, along with a few other questions about May and Cinco de Mayo. Winners get bragging rights and prizes, so grab a drink, pull up a chair and get answering.

Virtual Monday Night Trivia

Every Monday, Oakland's The Alley is hosting a Monday-night trivia event for teams of up to six people. The game is played on the honor system — all players should be in front of the camera, and online searching for answers is verboten. Grab some drinks and snacks and hop on Zoom for a little socializing before the game starts at 7:30 p.m.
