5 options for digital events in SF: Monday, June 22

The Bay Area's shelter-in-place order has brought countless events usually held as in-person gatherings online. We're aiming to support local businesses in San Francisco and Oakland by highlighting five of these events each day.

Got a suggestion for an online event based in SF or Oakland? Email our events reporter, Teresa Hammerl.

Here's your SF online event calendar for Monday, June 22. Join a virtual board game night, hear from the District 7 Supervisor candidates or tune in as a politician, lawyer, voting rights activist and likely candidate for Vice President talks about her new book.

San Francisco-based BATS Improv, an improvisational performing and training company, is hosting a Virtual Summer School of Improv, featuring a variety of curriculum taught online by BATS coaches.

In this five-hour workshop, taught over five daily sessions starting Monday, a maximum of 16 students aged 14 to 17 will practice acting, storytelling and comedy skills by playing improv games, creating improv scenes, and learning improv formats online.

If the idea of acting in a performance showcase where you have no clue what your part is and have to make it up as you go makes you nervous, but also excited, then this week is for you.

When: Starts Monday, June 22, 10 a.m., workshop will continue for five days, until Friday, June 26 — five hours daily
