Chelsea gets a new barber shop: Public Image NYCPhoto: Eamon W./Yelp

A new barber shop has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The new arrival to Chelsea, called Public Image NYC, is located at 234 W. 27th St.

Originally slated to open its doors back in April, Public Image NYC is finally up and running and accepting both walk-ins and customers with appointments. The new spot offers cuts for both short and long hairstyles ($60 and $80, respectively), as well as neck trims ($15), buzz cuts ($25) and blow drys ($70). Visit the business's website to book an appointment.

With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Dan B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 22, wrote, "Just came back from my first visit to the newly opened Public Image NYC, and cannot say enough good things about the space. Loved the overall vibe of the space, everyone was genuinely friendly, and they seemed like actual friends with each other — just good energy to be around."

Yelper Spencer M. added, "The space is clean, modern and a great high-energy environment to get your haircut."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Public Image NYC is open from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. daily.
