A new chicken shop has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 9889 Bellaire Blvd., Suite E211, in Sharpstown, the fresh arrival is called TKK Fried Chicken.

According to the business's Facebook page, TKK Fried Chicken was "founded in 1974 by Shih Kwei-ting; TKK is a Taiwanese chain of fried chicken restaurants."

On the menu, expect to see, of course, fried chicken (wings, tenders, whole chicken or a sandwich), along with sides like crispy cheese curds, shishito peppers and sweet potato fries. There are numerous combo options and customers can choose their own spice levels for the chicken. (Explore the full menu here.)

The new arrival has gotten good reviews thus far, with a four-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp.

Anh A., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 18, wrote, "The original was very tasty and not breaded for this of you who are low-carbing or keto-ing. The wings were so good. The biscuit was very good as well."

And Chi-Chi L. wrote, "Chicken was pretty delicious. The spicy gives you just the smallest hint of heat. I will say the chicken is good on its own. They do offer sauces, but it was good without it. The biscuit was actually pretty good too. The charred corn lacked pop. Cheese curds were better. We will be back."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: TKK Fried Chicken is open from 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and Sunday and 11 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday.
