On Sunday, tragedy struck Hollywood. Elder Bardales, a 57-year-old man, was fatally struck by a vehicle on Highland Avenue. The suspect, after hitting Bardales, tried to desperately flee the scene, only to be arrested shortly after.

Confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Bardales was crossing the street when the vehicle struck him, and his life left him on the very scene.

As KTLA mentions, the driver was quickly apprehended by the authorities, but further details on the collision have yet to be released.

While it may be tempting to pigeonhole the victim, the man lost in this tragedy, according to KTLA, "was not homeless."

As the investigation into this incident continues, authorities urge anyone with information on the case to call 877-LAPD-247.
