Belmont police are searching for 22-year-old Elijah Raheem Lurry, accused of attacking his girlfriend after she allegedly ignored his calls. The incident occurred at a home on East Avenue, where Lurry is accused of stabbing his girlfriend and holding her and a friend against their will. After several hours, the victims were able to escape and get medical help, as reported by WBTV.
The details of the incident became clear around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday when the victims arrived at a local hospital with serious injuries. An off-duty officer at the hospital alerted the police. The victims said the confrontation started after they returned home from a night out and were confronted by Lurry, who was upset about what he claimed was a deliberate avoidance of his calls. The situation quickly escalated from arguments to physical violence and stabbing, in a statement obtained by WCNC.
Lurry, facing serious charges like attempted murder and kidnapping, is still at large, leading police to warn the public about his potential danger. The Belmont Police are asking anyone with information on Lurry’s whereabouts to call 704-825-3792. Authorities say he fled the scene and is considered armed and dangerous, according to QC News.
