A string of automobile burglaries in Arlington, Tennessee, has resulted in the detention of a man and a 15-year-old, according to a report from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. After a series of car break-ins and the theft of a 2022 Ford F-150 taken from a resident's driveway in the Windsor Oak Subdivision, investigators conducted an operation leading to the recovery of the stolen vehicle and more.

The stolen truck was found near Estes and Cottonwood in Southeast Memphis, which allowed authorities to quickly apprehend 33-year-old Mardrakous Sugars without any incident. WREG notes that in addition to the vehicle theft, a total of ten more burglaries were verified in the surrounding area leading up to the arrest. Once the truck was searched, items including an AR-15 rifle and a bag containing cocaine were discovered, alongside various goods assumed to quickly have been stolen from vehicles in Arlington.

Sugars faces charges such as theft of property with values ranging from $10,000 to $60,000, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Additional articles, including one from FOX13 Memphis, state that after the adult suspect was detained, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on the 6900 block of Glenwick Drive.

This subsequent investigation brought forth the identification and custody of the 15-year-old said to have been an accomplice in Sugars' illicit acts. The young suspect was also charged with theft of property and burglary of a motor vehicle. As investigators continued to search, they indeed were able to recover more items related to the string of burglaries from the Arlington vicinity. Additional charges have been contemplated by the SCSO for both parties as the investigation progresses, according to a statement obtained by Action News 5.
